Who to Contact for Fairfield County Records

This is a private reference site. It is not a government office, a jail, or a corrections agency. It cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, release an inmate, post or arrange bond, or hand over official booking records. For any of those things, you need to reach the government office that actually holds the record. The contacts below point you to the correct Connecticut offices so you can ask them directly.

Looking for an Inmate or a Record?

Connecticut does not run county jails, so there is no Fairfield County sheriff to call. In 1968 the state folded every county jail and prison into a single agency, the Connecticut Department of Correction. That agency holds both pretrial and sentenced people, and its Public Information Office is the right place to ask about anyone in state custody. The addresses and phone numbers below are the real offices that handle Fairfield County inmate and records questions. Use them to ask about custody status, request inmate information, or reach a specific facility.
